Love this tune, but what the hell did they do to the drums...? slapback echo on drums...??? Damn... almost unlistenable... listen to the studio recording, those drums are tight...! Nothing like this at all... what a mess...
I was 12 years old just learning the guitar, and my first teacher gave me a larry Carlton album to listen to for perfect technique. 43 years later still playing guitar but still chasing larry that technique! 4:22
I dont get why people like music so much. Just be quiet. Its better that way. Why get all excited and emotional over some noises when you could just sit there in silence and await your certain death. Im just saying
Seen Larry several times in past five years, twice at the legendary tiny club The Baked Potato in LA, where he, Ritenhour, Robben Ford and Steve Lukather used to play after their session work in the 70s and 80s. Larry always closed the show with Room 335, explaining the difference between it and SD's "Peg," which hysterical also a shift to a different key.
Just like everyone else, I was like, what about Tal Farlow? why is he not in the title. Then I noticed John Patitucci on the bass and Billy Hart on Drums LOL
I saw him at this Montreux concert with a bunch of other artist, and as I left his concert late night i saw him waiting outside under a roof in the rain all alone with his guitar in the case 🙂those days are gone 🎸 still have all live records on reel

That delay in the Base Kick is unfortunately somewhat annoying. But Larry 's still the king...
Larry looks to have had a significant "bump" backstage before this tune. Those were the days lol. Grindin em out!
Help.....what is "Slapback delay?"
